At Berean Baptist Church we try hard to foster a sense of community where we look out for each other. The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:2  Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”  When someone requests prayer for a need (e.g.finding a job, a health concern) we share that with our community and bring that before God in prayer. If we can help out with in a tangible way we attempt to do so.

One community

One goal is to see singles, couples, broken homes and families join together as one family in Christ within our faith community. When a person enters our community we attempt to be sensitive to the amount of involvement that they would like. Some are very social and enjoy more interaction and some may be busy or more introverted and have less time or need for interaction.

Love as a foundation

The foundation of our relationships is love and respect. God’s Word is so clear that are all equal in God’s eyes (Galatians 3:28) and we aim to incorporate scriptural principles of unconditional love towards those in our faith community and those outside it. One great passage of scripture that lays the blueprint for charity (“love in action”) is I Corinthians 13. This passage so clearly identifies what is love and what isn’t.

Respect

We all have different backstories and different narratives that have shaped who we are today. We represent different ideologies and ways of thinking and yet the true Christian is one with all other Christians. Realizing that all Christians are “accepted into the beloved” we seek to respect everyone for where there are at without prejudice.
